These events used to be called the Tuesday Salons in honor of the great French Salon tradition and as an extension of the Salon’s that my friend Lindsey Nicols would host late Tuesday nights at her darling little hotel near Pike Street Market. Since Lindsey intends to resume hosting her Tuesday night Salons someday, I am going to call these new Tuesday night gatherings: Tuesday Soirees. A soiree is similar to a Salon but has a connotation of being less formal and being driven more by artists themselves rather than a host or hostess.

The Tuesday Soirees will begin at 8 and go until they run out of steam. I have already begun putting the word out and have hosted two thus far. Already it appears there are plenty of folks who will be attending these gatherings for one reason or another. There is no admission price.

As interest and availability allow I will open the Grand Suite and hot tub for attendees to enjoy.

Plumbing: The next step in renovations and improvements at the spa is going to be plumbing. I will be putting in two bathrooms and laying the foundation plumbing work needed to install a shower and and watsu pool on the third floor. While I have done a lot of improvements to the facility about 5 months ago, I have come to a type of work that I can not do myself. I have tried. But plumbing is something that will require professional help. Once the plumbing is complete and the bathrooms are in place I will be ready to begin doing Little Red Studio again and will consider and Open Spa Day each week.

On March 18th, MLSGROUP Seattle commissioned me to help spur their creative process by offering a space for their employees to be free and contribute to the next phase of their growth. I led them on a path of expression and self awareness as well as mutual respect for each others taste in art. The goal was to get everyone involved and create a beautiful art piece which will hang from the walls of their Seattle office. After much eating, drinking and camaraderie, they were inspired to create a piece, which, when complete, will be gorgeous.

I have been appointed the curator, and after its installation I will share the finished piece. Stay tuned

Our next door neighbor is Bartholemew Winery. Between their tasting room and us is a big room where they kept their many barrels of wine. However, the room was too big and they were unable to get a fork lift in and out. Each barrel of wine weighs over 800 pounds when full. So, Bart aske me if I would like to expand the spa into that space.

On March 1st I broke a hole through our lobby space into the barrel room. It is 1,300 square feet and has a 20′ ceiling.  It also has a bathroom.

Immediately I began fulfilling a commission for three large paintings for a new restaurant in town. However, the barrel room will not become my studio. Once these paintings are completed I will prepare the room for events, yoga classes, stretching and relaxing and whatever else the rapidly growing spa demands.

When you come to the Little Red Day Spa now you can enter through the front door.  You could not do this up until now because this entry way had very heavy metal doors that were very difficult and noisy to open.    We just replaced them with elegant glass and wooden doors.   Not only do they look and function beautifully, they allow our guests to enter into the lobby of spa…..rather than into the main treatment room.

The spa is growing fast thanks to our guests enthusiastic embrace of our new home.  As such, we are now often seeing guests in both our main space on the ground floor and in our new room on the 3rd floor.  We are calling the main space the Grand Suite since it has a 28′ ceiling, an over sized hot tub, lots of great art and other amenities that make it truly grand.   The new space on the 3rd floor is being decorated with Moroccan touches so naturally we are calling this the Moroccan Room.   When you are booking with us please be sure to note which space you are booking.

This week we are excited to announce that we now offer On-Line booking. Any time of day or night you can click through our website to book your own appointment with us. Since we now have two rooms available, you can select which room you would like…..The Grand Suite….or….The Moroccan Room.  The Grand Suite has a hot tub, two massage tables, a mud and body paint area and soon….its own shower and dry sauna. It also has room for many of your friends should you choose to invite them. The Moroccan Room is smaller but still plenty of room for two tables. It too will have its own shower and dry sauna soon. This room will also feature a watsu pool. There is a section where you can indicate the gender and even the name of the practitioner you would prefer. We will do our best to match you with the practitioner you have requested based on their availability. We will notify you if we need to appoint a different practitioner for you.

We are also very excited to offer pregnancy massage services for before and after birth. Janice is specifically certified for this type of massage and our watsu massage and hot tub are perfect comforts. We keep our hot tub set at 98 degrees for pregnancy watsu sessions. Dads….you are welcome to bring your new born with you so that your partner can get some professional attention.

Our neighbor is a winery….Bartholomew  Winery. They make fantastic wine and are very sweet people. This weekend, the 9th and 10th, they are hosting a special wine tasting open house. If you have an appointment with us come a little early and check out their cute space and delicious wines.  Maybe pick up a bottle to enjoy during your session with us?

We are also excited to announce the opening of our third floor couple’s treatment suite. It will feature two massage tables, a dry sauna, all the tools and toys you need for seaweed and mud wraps and facial treatments. Eventually this suite will have a shower and watsu pool….but not yet!

Our demand is high for the Valentine’s Day Season so we wanted to make this space available for guests that would like to come enjoy the cozy, creative and intimate nature of our spa. The 3rd Floor Couple’s Suite is at a reduced price until those water features are added.

We have a few special treats for all of our guests through the Valentine’s Day Season including chocolates from Samadhi Chocolates. And as always, we encourage you to bring your own picnic and libations for your time with us. Each of our rooms has all of the things you need to support your refreshments.

Valentine’s Day and the days right before and after are our busiest times of the year.  Please be patient with us as we try to accommodate as many of you as we can. We would love to host everyone who calls, of course, and we will do our best to balance our desire to include as many as we can with our concern to keep the quality of your experience here as high as possible. Currently we have one main room available. It is featured in photos on the website. It is and will always be our biggest room. It currently has the over sized hot tub, two massage tables and all the set up for body painting, mud and seaweed wraps and a nice table for your indoor picnic. Soon it will have its own shower, a cold dip tub and a dry sauna.

We have also nearly completed our second floor individual treatment rooms.

Later….in the Spring…..we will be adding a Couple’s Treatment room on the third floor with a true watsu pool, two tables and a dry sauna. That room will also have its own shower.

So please come see us. Enjoy the magic that is already happening. And then come see us again later to see what else we have added. Exciting things are being added almost everyday now.
