Little Red Day Spa began in 2007 as nothing but a single room in Jeff Hengst’s art gallery. It became an overnight sensation by combining relaxing massage therapy with an artistic atmosphere. By 2013, Little Red Day Spa had outgrown the art gallery and moved to its own standalone location, where our popularity only increased. We’ve become incredibly successful, with over 100 appointments per week, and now we’re ready to expand our operations through franchising! In 2013 the spa had outgrown the art studio showroom, so Jeff moved it to its own present location. Over the years it grew from one suite to 5 suites where it serves over 100 couples’ appointments per week. And after just a few months of closure for Covid, the spa bounced back and continues to expand. In fact, with upper income folks working from home now the spa’s weekday bookings are likely to keep increasing. Weekends are already consistently at or near capacity.

The spa is committed to providing couples with a unique therapeutic experience in a sumptuous environment, first rate massage and time afterwards that is the perfect setting for couples to reconnect. That is why our tag line is “Reinventing Reconnecting”.

The Little Red Day Spa Franchise

Concept

At the Little Red Day Spa our priority is to provide a setting and an experience that supports couples to have a relaxed authentic moment with each other. This is predicated on the idea that those moments are intrinsically healing to them as individuals and as a couple. It is important that the spa maintains the absolute highest levels of cleanliness and maintenance. Above that, each suite needs to be sumptuous and authentic and a touch exotic. There are limitless ways to achieve this and in fact repeat guests enjoy that there are often changes and new additions to the decor and furnishings.

As an extension of our commitment to couples we offer a weekly massage class. This is social, educational and private. They happen one evening a week and begin with a small social gathering and demonstration. Then couples retire to their individual suites with one therapist who takes turns showing couples how to massage each other. After that, the therapist leaves and the couple has another hour or so to relax in the suite on their own.

Our lobby also provides space for couples to gather before or after their appointments in a relaxed manner over a glass of wine and our limited selection of savory and sweet snacks. There is often live entertainment.

The spa also has a membership program that is quite successful. These are limited in number and while offered at a steep discount, they are a monthly guaranteed income stream that contributes to a stable business model.

Offer

We are offering a turnkey franchise opportunity. Prospective locations should be at least 3,000 square feet. Because of the importance of a unique experience, a location in a strip mall or shopping center will not work. Ideal locations are in buildings that have either some historic charm or unexpected quality, even in light industrial areas as is our flagship location in Seattle which is situated in an old brewery. Sub city residential “neighborhoods” with commercial zoning are also ideal locations.

The total investment for a Little Red Day Spa franchise can range from $334,700 to $558,600. This includes a one-time franchise fee of $35,000. Your initial investment will go towards covering many vital expenses associated with opening a Little Red Day Spa franchise location such as furniture, fixtures, art, the initial inventory and the construction of any leasehold improvements.

Training

We are committed to delivering excellence in service. Franchisees are expected to meet and uphold our standards. To that end, we have developed a comprehensive training program designed to teach you the best business practices so that you may operate your franchise efficiently and profitably. The training consists of two sections: a 36 hour “classroom” section at our flagship location in Seattle and a 44 hour on-the-job section at your location as you prepare to open. Throughout the program franchisees will learn how to operate a Little Red Day Spa location from our team of expert staff.
